Dressing Sets for Stoma care
For many years a PEG feeding tube has been a standard for percutaneous enteral nutrition. It is a reliable and convenient form to deliver food to the patient. Approximately 2-4 weeks after placement of a PEG a stoma is formed around the entry point of the feeding tube. With a good daily routine, the stoma can be kept healthy and free from irritations.
Until the stoma is fully formed and mature you may protect the site with a sterile dressing.
- The Hermann Dressing Set is a special Dressing for stoma care of a newly inserted PEG . A silver-coated slit compress works against bacteria. Sterile compresses cover the stoma which can be fixed by a stretch plaster. A special plaster fixes the feeding tube to the dressing.
- The Erlanger Dressing Set is for long-term stoma care. It comprises slit compresses and sterile dressings.
