Check your Nutritional Status

Find out if you are at risk

How can you assess your nutritional status?

Your nutritional status and diagnosis of an inadequate diet can be undertaken by the doctor treating you, on the basis of a variety of tests and a thorough medical history. The checklist for inadequate nutrition can provide you with the first indications of a possible risk.

Checkyour weight

Check if you are at risk

Undergoing cancer treatment affects people in very different ways. Symptoms such as unplanned weight loss, tiredness or lack of appetite frequently occur.

Recovering from surgery, chemotherapy or radiation treatment takes up a lot of strength and energy. Check your own nutritional status regularly, as this is an important indicator of your overall health.

It is therefore particularly important to recognise the first signs of malnutrition at an early stage and to counteract the depletion of the body's tissues by taking appropriate measures.

Body mass index (BMI)

If your body weight is appropriate and you haven't lost more than 10% of it within 3-6 months, the measurement of the BMI is evaluated. A BMI check will quickly provide you with information about the ratio between your height and weight.

Together with the checklist, this information will serve as the basis for a medical consultation and to find out if your food intake meets your needs.
