What is the difference between Fresubin and a traditional energy drink from the supermarket?
All our Fresubin products are Foods for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP). The composition is specifically designed to meet the needs of patients with or who are at risk of malnutrition and are used in a wide variety of healthcare settings. Fresubin products deliver macronutrients carbohydrates, fat and protein. It also contains micronutrients, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Some Fresubin range provides complete nutrition.

How long should Fresubin be taken for?
Please always follow your healthcare professional’s advice. The duration of the usage of Fresubin depends on your individual situation and the effect you want to achieve.
Our recommendation:
… to sustain and boost health status: 1 bottle of our essentials per day over a period of 3 months as they deliver the minimum effective dose of 400 kcal and 20 g protein.
… as nutritional support for cancer patients: 2 bottles Supportan per day. This is the optimal solution, also providing omega 3 fatty acids. Alternatively, all high protein, high energy Fresubin versions support you as well to avoid taste fatigue.

How long do the products last unopened?
Our products are produced with a shelf life of at least 12 months. Every unit is marked with its individual best before date. So have a look at yours.
Can opened bottles be kept?
Opened bottles may be stored in a refrigerator for up to 24 hours or up to 6 hours in room temperature.
Do I have to always use Fresubin on its own?
No, you can combine Fresubin products with your regular food or even enrich your meal with Fresubin. We have developed and tried out different recipes using Fresubin for you. So you can vary your daily extra portion of energy and nutrients to make it attractive and delicious.
