What is tube feeding?

Tube feeding is a procedure used for administering liquid nutrition directly into the stomach or small intestine through a tube inserted through the nose or abdomen.

When is tube feeding used?

Tube feeding can help you to meet your nutritional needs in times when you are not able to eat enough. This may occur if you physically cannot eat or swallow safely or if your requirements are increased beyond your ability to eat.
