Sustainability

Plastic is an important packaging material for medical oral nutritional products, it supports sterile manufacturing, protects sensitive formulations and is lightweight and durable. In healthcare, plastic components and packaging systems are currently indispensable, ensuring product safety, sterility, non-fragility and efficient processes.

However, we continually look for ways to reduce the amount of plastic used in our packaging, where this can be achieved without compromising product safety or quality.

Understanding Plastic Waste

Every year, the world produces over 460 million tons of plastic.¹

EasyBottle

The plastic used in the 200 ml EasyBottle has been reduced by 30 % since 2011, that's up to 440 tonnes less plastic used in the packaging per year.²

EasyBag

A fully collapsible design, allowing it to fold flat once empty, reducing the physical volume at the point of disposal.

Our EasyBottle

The EasyBottle is the standard container for our oral nutritional supplement range. It features a large screw cap for easy opening and closing, a wide opening for convenient pouring, and a rectangular shape for a stable grip and practical storage.

Reduced Plastic Usage in EasyBottle

Since 2011, the 200 ml EasyBottle has reduced its total packaging weight by 30%, corresponding to a reduction of up to 440 tons of plastic used in the packaging per year.²

And since 2013, the 125 ml EasyBottle has reduced its total packaging weight by 20%, resulting in up to 40 tonnes less plastic being used in its packaging each year.²

The straw was also removed in 2019, reducing packaging material further, all while maintaining the same product quality and usability.

Our EasyBag

EasyBag is Fresenius Kabi's tube feeding container, designed to be hygienic, and easy to use for both patients and healthcare professionals. It is available in three sizes and supports a broad range of product formulations.

The EasyBag features clear volume markings for accurate monitoring, a colour-coded system for easy product identification, and a fully collapsible design, meaning it folds flat once empty, reducing the physical volume of packaging at the point of disposal.
